The Systematic Federal FOIA Failure

Posted on 29. Sep, 2012 by in Analysis, Current Events

As if we needed another reason to turn the president out of office, Bloomberg News recently released an internal analysis of the Obama administration’s criminally (both in the figurative and literal sense) deficient adherence to federal law. In the wake of endless federal spending scandals and government investment snafus plaguing these last few years, one [...]

The Clinton Catastrophe

Obama must be getting smarter in his old age. Recently he agreed with a statement floating around on Twitter that Bill Clinton should be his “Secretary of Explaining Things.” Lately everyone seems to be gobbling up Clinton’s particular brand of bullshit, but that is nothing new. Obama could learn a thing or two about how politics is actually played from a man like Bill Clinton. He may be the most gifted politician of his generation… and I do not mean that as a compliment.

This week’s Twit thinks a tort is a tasty crème-filled treat. In fact all of this week’s Twits are engaged in feloniously foolish and often cretinously craven lawsuits that, in some cases, are destroying people’s lives and even entire industries. Arbitration and fair competition are for losers, at least according to: Apple Inc. Apple Computer, [...]

Paul Ryan’s Demise

Paul Ryan may have made the greatest mistake of his political career yesterday when he publically admitted to the crime of being stupid enough to jump on the Romney ticket. I’m not sure what he was promised, how much campaign money and/or political clout the RNC heavies offered him, but there is no way it [...]

This week’s Twit and Twit runners-up all ask the same question: where is (and isn’t) the beef? The meat of their arguments might be red or white, but overall none of it is kosher. The grill is sizzling and all ready for: Proco “Joe” Moreno Chicago is a mystically bizarre place. If you asked me [...]

California is nearly 400 billion dollars in debt. The lukewarm sense of hope following the contentious fight to wrap up the yearly state budget is tempered by the knowledge that the agreement requires the public to ok a referendum temporarily raising taxes by 8 billion dollars. Social services, health programs, the education system, the court [...]

Word has come that Bashir al-Assad’s illegitimate regime has begun moving stockpiles of chemical weapons within Syria. There are a few hopeful pundits floating the idea that Assad might be doing this to secure these potent weapons, keeping them away from terrorist groups who might use the chaos currently raging through Syria as an excuse [...]

This week’s Twit got FactChecked into the wall by the center forward of team truth. Vilifying a successful businessman without proof will get you two minutes in the penalty box along with: Stephanie Cutter FactCheck.org is an excellent resource for digging through the endless yellow journalism, political muckraking and outright lying that typifies an American [...]

It is safer to be a U.S. solider in Afghanistan than it is to walk the streets of Chicago, and what does the Mayor want to do about it? Make it harder for Chicagoans to defend themselves. Yes, Rahmbo, who wouldn’t dream of going anywhere without armed men wearing police badges surrounding him, thinks it [...]

As you may or may not have heard, Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz, next in line for the throne of Saudi Arabia, kicked the bucket today. This could very well be the best news I’ve heard this weekend. As a matter of fact, the only thing that would make it better is to hear the rest [...]
