Daley’s Rant About Butts Proves He’s Full of Sh**

So the Supreme Court will soon decide the fate of Chicago Mayor Daley’s hand gun ban. A similar anti-handgun law has already been struck down in Washington D.C., so it is fairly certain that Chicago’s three-decade old ban will be struck down as well. All of this confirms the idiocy and sheer illegality of Daley’s much vaunted (but utterly ineffective) firearms control fiasco.

Does Mayor Daley really think that shootings have been curtailed because he passed a handgun ban? This ban has had no (I repeat no) effect on the horrible violence that repeatedly plays out on the streets of Chicago.

This is common sense, people. If you ban handguns, then only the criminals will have them. Perhaps if more of the “bad guys” think that some of the “good guys” have weapons, those thugs might think twice about assaulting a fellow citizen. If everyone had the right to a handgun, maybe this might not have happened:

    Isn’t it kind of like under the Loren-Maltese leadership in Cicero you acted under the assumption the laws of this land did not apply either Betty? You still act and think and write like a politician Betty. The Daleys aren’t going anywhere and no one is backing your play anymore. Many former offenders have changed you I am not so sure. You still lay blame on everyone else instead of owning what you did. I believe the real crime here in your mind is that you got caught.

      The Loren-Maltese leadership in Cicero is long over. Get over it. Plenty of people – big and small, powerful and weak – are supporting Betty’s cause.
      Your attack on Betty, raising the question ‘has she changed’ is misplaced. The thread is about Daley.
      The crime that Betty served prison time on is old and serves no purpose on this thread. Betty has paid the debt – whether she is guilty or not.

    Couldn’t agree with you more. Daley has done what he wants, when he wants and how he wants even when the public is against whatever it is that he wants. The Olympic bid was a classic example of Daley’s will. I wish that the man put as much effort into education and protecting the public as he did for the Olympics.

    BETTY, great article. I was doing some research on line in-reagrds to gun control, most of the states have dropped there gun control laws ever since the Washinton DC case. most states now even allow there citizens to carry a concealed weapon!so Long as they had some type of firearms training. there are only two states that do not allow this out of the 50 states! one would be Illinois! the second Wisconsin! what has the other 48 states figuerd out that these two states haven’t.If illinois along with chicago would allow there law abiding citizens to carry a concealed weapon I truly believe that the murder rate and violent crimes in our city, state would be greatly reduced.

    I love your thoughts Betty! So many reporters are (scared) to criticize the Dailey Machine, but the real truth is that people are SICK of him in this town. I know I am! His approval ratings are at an all time low (in the 30%’s). He knows he will not get relected Betty and I say go ridence to him. I do like his wife Maggie though, she is a sweet soul. Love you Betty!
