Bishop Raymond Goedert Likes To Think The Roman Catholic Chuch Is “Concerned For The Children…”

Posted on 03. Aug, 2009 by in Analysis

I would like to think that Bishop Goedert is concerned for the Children too. I’d like to think that I am the most handsome and intelligent man alive. Despite my deepest and most sincere hope that this is the case, reality assures me it is not.

Yet another recently released deposition, related to me via my acquaintance Jeff Anderson, has shocked me. Speaking with Jeff is always enlightening. This new deposition deals with the many serious controversies of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. A copy can be found for a limited time at the Archdiocese of Chicago website. It is a voluminous piece chock full of startling revelations.

I wish to digress for a second to share something. Chicago is presently the home base for the most influential politician in America, Mr. Barack Obama. It is also home for the most influential Catholic in America, Cardinal Francis George, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Given the many serious controversies surrounding Chicago politics and Chicago Catholics (i.e., pedophile priests), I ask myself, ‘why would Americans across our fine nation hold Chicago as a credible base to launch such leaders?’ Some call Illinois the ‘Land of Lincoln’, perhaps it is really best known as the ‘Territory of Al Capone & Company’ (please be advised that my mention of Al Capone is not an insinuation that he was a pedophile).

With this ugly state of affairs in mind, I would like to return to my original point.

As a catholic I find this policy of ‘scandal prevention’ sickening and can only imagine that shuffling around abusive priests was part of this policy. I hope this policy had been used only in past abuse allegations but I know little of this subject. I think you like me like to use money to quickly affect outcome. We must consider the unintended consequences of this type of offer. Have you considered there are people that may want to get even with someone by making an anonymous claim? Thus inflicting emotional damage, family embarassment, etc on an innocent person. I am all for getting the evil in the world but accusing innocent people would eventually lead to diminished credibility of accusers and a fewer # abusive people reported. Finally didn’t Al Capone contract syphillis from his 13 year old mistress? (which later lead to his death – I call that karma)

    Dear Mr. White,

Thanks again for your continued interest in KTF.

Okay, I knew I was making myself vulnerable when I jokingly defended Al Capone. Since Al Capone was used as a mere example to prove an insignificant point, I will keep this brief. If you have credible evidence that Al Capone had a 13-year old mistress, forward it to me and I will remove the addendum, which states that Capone is not a pedophile. I must confess, in my opinion, Elliott Ness would have also nailed Capone on sex charges if such evidence existed.

I believe that my response to your comment on Capone demonstrates that I will be extremely prudent about the process in which I evaluate the information that will be coming to me via the Cardinal Cody Observation Commission. Furthermore, please be advised that I have put a great deal of thought and preparation into this program. I did not simply wake up this morning and say, ‘I am going to start the Cardinal Cody Observation Commission’. In fact, I have been as prudent as possible throughout the entire process of launching the concept behind the CCOC. I am abundantly confident that the CCOC will not create unnecessary complications for innocent people.

Mr. White, if you are as concerned as you claim, please consider submitting your resume and apply for a position at the CCOC.

My qualifications have been appropriately addressed and dealt with prior to establishing the CCOC. I will go into detail in my next article on KTF.

    Sincerely,

    Joseph Fosco
