Four years ago in the national election, the major term of that election was “Swift Boat” and the charges brought against Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry. To this very day, all candidates claim they will not be “Swift Boated” and the Obama campaign has announced that they would not allow their candidate to be the subject of any Swift Boat attacks. The Swift Boat story of 2004 was the story of the election cycle. However, as a political observer of the national media, this major story of the 2004 campaign was never broadcast on any of the major media networks in the networks attempt to protect the Democratic candidate. By this action, the media had given away their last bit of professional objectivity in order to protect their political agenda. The networks had decided NOT to let America learn about this issue because they knew it would harm their own political interests. The power of the internet and media sources like Fox News was left to tell America the truth about an issue the rest of the media tried to ignore.
Now in 2008 a majority of the national major media networks have decided to do away with any pretense of fairness and instead to become an open advocate and unabashed partner with one political candidate. Even Democrat Senator Hilary Rodman Clinton was not able to accept the fact that she became the target of this obsessed media that was pushing their agenda. The ever popular President Bill Clinton has probably forever lost his universal appeal within the Democratic Party due to his once close ally, major media, suddenly attacking him on issues and principles that in the past would have been forgotten or trivialized.
