The Crux Of Change

Aside from my sad feelings about the beloved and treasured Joseph Accardi not returning to his post at St. Mary of the Angels next year, I feel that all the disappointed parents should carefully consider a decision so vital as transferring their children from this school which means so much to all of us. Let us not forget that St. Mary of the Angels has done an excellent job making our children who they are today. Do not get me wrong, I well understand that Joe Accardi was a major part of the school’s success and its popularity among the students and parents, however, all of the teachers and clergy as well as the school itself have played a major role in helping the children become better, happier students and good disciples. Therefore, I strongly urge all of the unhappy parents to slow down a little with their ideas about transferring their children from our one-of-a kind-school that has done so much good for all of us. It is difficult enough grieving with our goodbye to Joseph Accardi, please let us not make this tougher on the children by making them say goodbye to their whole scholastic community as well.

We are certainly blessed for having the treasured gift from God who is Mr. Accardi. We must not forget that we will always have with us the beautiful and valuable lessons and experiences that Mr. Accardi brought into our lives. We must now pass on to others what we have received from Mr. Accardi. After all, even under the most ideal circumstances Mr. Accardi would not be with us forever. The passing on of his teachings will help us get through the difficult time of saying goodbye to him. Please remember, the greatest gift that we can give back to Mr. Accardi is to teach others what he has taught us: to love, respect and honor each other through Christ. As things change, life goes on and we must look forward to the new lessons and the new experiences that will continue to improve us as life’s students, parents and disciples.
