It is not my intention to paint a picture of a wonderful man like Tony Caliendo as a person that would fantasize about beating up his boss or kowtow to the Outfit. Instead, I would like you to understand that Tony simply knew that Scavo is nothing more than garbage. Now that we all know the extent of Scavo’s misdeeds, there is little room for anyone to disagree with Tony’s judgment of him. Tony Caliendo first was a loving husband and a very proud father, and a good cop second.
I have heard more than one high-powered individual over the years express their regret for not installing Tony Caliendo as the Police Chief of Melrose Park, Illinois, when Drumhead was otherwise wrongfully selected in the mid 1990s. I know that if Tony Caliendo had been chief of police, Melrose Park would have never been embarrassed the way it was when Drumhead’s shenanigans came to center stage in recent years.
A horrifying and despicable cretin that I was once forced to know socially, semi-retired Outfit gambling boss Joseph DeVita, caused an unnecessary and sad strain on my relationship with Tony in recent years. What DeVita did to me was out of sheer spite and for no good reason. Therefore, I have told the story above as if DeVita had never existed.
I pray that God continues to take good care of Tony in his new life with the Lord. I know Tony’s love is shining down on all of his loved ones.
P.S.
As a side note, according to sources close to Drumhead Scavo, Vito seems to be having a very difficult time adjusting to incarcerated life. From what I have heard, he is whining like a child. Apparently, the Outfit boss role that Scavo portrayed during his years as ruler of the streets of Melrose Park was a role that he truly did not fit. It appears prison life has exposed Scavo as a weak and scared old man.

I have met Mick; I would not say that I know him. As far as I am aware, he is not related to Tony, or at least not closely related.
Joe, do you know a Melrose Park detective named Micheal Castellan? He has a brother who is a dentist in Melrose Park named Albert. Both are very solid well respected guys. Micheal would absolutely not take any bullshit from any Outfit guys. He is a very solid cop. He did not like Scavo at all and avoided him.

Regardless of your issues with Tony, I would appreciate if you would not use my message thread to condemn him. Tony Caliendo was a great person, as far as I am concerned. And a couple of influential people felt the same way about him. I am not going to judge my friends personal life, especially now that he is gone and cannot defend himself.

No, I do not know them. I have seen them in public places over the years. One is a professional massage therapist who helped Buddy Ciotti during a time that he was suffering with great back pain. I remember seeing her come to his home for the massage. From what I know, they are wonderful people.

Readers: For the record, James Harris failed to keep his word. I have not received a photo of him and Tony Caliendo. Now I seriously doubt his claim.

In all of that time, you are the first and only person that has claimed to send me something via email that I did not receive. I have checked my spam and bulk mail folders as well.
