Many of my readers continually ask me if I am related to the late Laborers Union boss, Angelo Fosco. The photo in this article includes Angelo Fosco’s son Paul.
I am in the center of the photo catching flies with my mouth semi-open. The tall, distinguished man on the left is Steve McMullen, the stepson of former Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne. Paul A. Fosco is the gentleman on the far right of the photo who is gazing down at the rose, which is provocatively placed in the cleavage of the woman next to me.
A rose by any other name...
Paul is a former union official that was convicted of union corruption related charges and served prison time. Today he works for United Maintenance, which was once owned by Ben Stein. Paul serves the company’s president and Rick Simon as the vice-president. Rick is a former Chicago Police Officer that is rumored to have aided the late Ben Stein in a serious criminal matter prior to Rick leaving the CPD. This sordid turn of events is what supposedly launched him into his prestigious career at United Maintenance. Rick might own the company by now. I am not sure if Ben’s daughter Carol has sold out.
Despite both Fosco families originating from the same small town in Italy, moving to the same American-Italian neighborhood surrounding Taylor Street and having family members that were union officials that shared the same office building on South Ashland, we have agreed to declare publicly that we are of no relation.

Isn’t there a Paul Fosco who is your brother and is named after Paul Ricca? Are there then 2 Paul Foscos?
There are two Paul Foscos. The Paul Fosco in this photo is not my brother.
