William “Bill” Daddono III

Things like this have only put the Daddonos even more in the Outfit’s debt. In fact, the Daddonos are so beholden to the Outfit and their lackeys that Bill Jr. (along with his son, Bill III) actually walked out of the hospital room where his son Lou was at death’s door because Jack Cerone, Esq. told them to.

This all happened when Sam Lucarelli, a Cleveland Outfit man and owner of Minute Men Staffing, was starting to get his feet wet at McCormick Place with his day labor company. Bill Daddono’s son Lou had been hospitalized with a serious condition. The family was not sure if he was going to make it. Prior to Lou’s hospitalization, Bill Jr. and Bill III had a meeting scheduled with Jack Cerone, Esq. and Sam Lucarelli regarding McCormick Place business. The Daddonos canceled the meeting because of Lou’s hospitalization.

Well, at least they tried to cancel the meeting.

When Jack found out that the Daddonos were not going to make the meeting he became livid. Flaunting his close connection to the Daddonos in front of Lucarelli was something Jack desperately wished to do. The power of the Daddono family at McCormick Place is well known by people in the industry. Bill III told me, “That creep Jackie called my father and me while we were in the hospital room with Louie. My mother was there crying. And Jackie is on the phone insisting that we come to the meeting for at least 30-minutes because it’s very important. So, we finally agreed to meet him. And when we got there all he wanted to do was tell stories. He had me tell the story about the time I golfed with that nigger Michael Jordan and beat him for all that money. My father and I got pissed that he pulled us out of the hospital for nothing but story telling. So my dad got up and said that we have to go and we walked out of the meeting. Joe, you have no idea how much I hate Jackie for what he did to us when my brother was expected to die.”

This is the sort of thing that will happen to you when you make deals with the Devil.

  1. Joe,
Wow, that is by far the best article you’ve written this year. What a bombshell! I have a feeling joe messino won’t be the only one after your culo. I’m afraid you will be able to add Bill the 3rd to the list. Let’s pray not. Thanks for all your hard work and chances you take in the name of justice and ANP. We, your readers really appreciate it.

      • Joe, If Bill DADDONO is related to the famous Willie ‘Potatoes’ DADDANO, then did they change the spelling of their last name or is it simply a typo error?

        • The Daddono family spells their name exactly the way I have spelled it, D-A-D-D-O-N-O. Over the years, the media and various law enforcement sources have misspelled their name. In fact, the famous book ‘Captive City’ misspelled their name. Again, my spelling of their name is correct.

WOW!! I can say there will be some people that will not be happy about thiis one. I wroked at the Rosemont Convention Center and McCormick when i was younger. One of my brothers was with the Teamsters from 1980 or so in Rosemont and then went to McCormick after an issue with Nick Boscarino. I worked with one of the Daddanos as my brother was close to him back then. i can not remember which one. he is at least 5 to 10 years older than me. I also know him from a Mazza that i worked with some years ago.

    Great article!

I can’t wait to read the upcoming ones, especially the one concerning Nick Gio. That’s sure to raise hackles in the threads!

    • Dear Sleepy,
In the interest of fairness, the arrest that Bill Jr experienced was not for beating his wife or anyone in his family.

  4. Hi Joe Fosco, How are you? Here’s a big kiss on the side of your cheek. Hey, Joe, I have a question. Recently, in your feeds, you and a reader had a conversation about a Cafe Paizza, and how it once was owned by Willie Messino. Can you tell me if JOe Messino JR. still hangs there?

    • Joseph Fosco on

      Dear SQE,
I am fine, thanks, you? The old Cafe Piaza is now a pizza parlor. People do not hang out there as if it were a nightclub. I wish to clarify that Joe Messino is the son of William Messino, Jr. Joe is not Joe Jr., he is simply Joe Messino.

      • I am doing good, tanks. I was trying to say Joe Messino as in Grandson. Anyway, where is this pizza place now? I was thinking of the Cafe Piazza located at Addison and Forest Preserve Dr. Do they own an Italian bar anymore? (referring to the Messino father and son team left?)

        • Joseph Fosco on

The old Cafe Piaza that Willie Messino owned with State Rep. Skip Saviano’s brother Nick was located on 77th and North Ave in Elmwood Park, Illinois. Willie’s sons or their children had nothing to do with the place.
I have no clue if they own anything today besides a tow truck and the shirts on their backs.

    Joe,

Was Bill Daddono III involved in that alleged restaurant battery incident that transpired in Roselle, IL, which resulted in the arrest of and charges against Mike Magnafichi? I thought I remember reading that in one of the other threads.

    • Joseph Fosco on

He sure was. In fact, I was there too. As soon as he beat up the old man, I split. He and Michael Magnafichi tried to get away, unsuccessfully. If you pull the police report, you would see it clearly states that Daddono and Magnafichi were with a guy named Joe who got away. I do not feel that I did anything wrong by leaving. I did not hit anyone. Daddono and Magnafichi were found not guilty because the poor old man was unable to properly identify the defendants as his “attackers.” I have to tell you that Magnafichi did not do anything wrong. Billy is the only one that attacked the old man.
The poor guy was a beer sales representative, which came out in court. Daddono asked Michael to talk to his dear friends the Duffs (bosses of the liquor drivers union – my late Uncle Romie’s old local) to see if something could be arranged to have him fired from his job. I am not sure if anything ever happened with that. I might check into it.

Joe, I’m am curious what precipitated this article on Daddono. As I understood it, you guys were friends.

Are you still friends with Magnafichi?

        • Dear Merlin,
I would not use the word precipitated, this article was a long time coming. Doing the right thing is what caused the article on Daddono. He is a part of my past, not a good part. I maintain a mild rapport via telephone with Magnafichi for reasons that I am not at liberty to discuss. Thank you.

          • A pretty good article hear JF. One of your best in terms of in depth thoroughness. JF, You know not to mess w/ the Daddonos lol.

You remember last summer/fall when I brought up Mary Daddono in the threads and her family of supporters went on the offensive ??

I’m surprised you have not felt the Daddono wrath yet lol. Will the 3rd is her nephew. And seems on the surface legitimate.

The Will Daddono’s are also connected to one Vito Salamone.. The owner of the old DeMarco Restaurant @ Lake and 53rd (on the DOJ wire taps Jimmy Light is talking to Rocky Infelise about meeting their.. All though Jimmy doesn’t say what establishment, but that is what he is talking about).

The Salamones own a lot of restaurants on Lake St. (but I wanna say those are Marco D’amico’s joints and Salamone has been his front for years.. Just a hunch JF). But the Daddono’s, Salamones, Boscarino’s seem to be major partners.

But hey what’s this Marco Damico article on corruption you have brewing ?? Enquiring minds want to know. I had no idea Marco was corrupt.

Joe, are you saying that your relationship with Michael Magnafichi has cooled? Based on your 10:58 a.m. response, it seems that way–especially when compared with the “Mr. Michael G. Magnafichi” article, in which you said, “He has been a dear pal of mine for a number of years.”

I was just curious–no need to get into the details.

    • I am not commenting one way or the other on if my friendship with Michael has cooled.

      • Joe, I’ll bet Rudy Fratto curses the day he schemed with Cerone Junior to extort money from you. If/when Rudy gets out of prison, he might disappear on a long vacation forever like LT Zizzo. One thing the Bosses won’t tolerate is massive stealing from them or using their name to steal for yourself and then not even give them their cut. Rudy might be safer to stay in prison. After all, that is what saved Jack.

        • Joseph Fosco on

Under regular circumstances, Rudy should be afraid to come back to Chicago, but with things the way they are, who knows what will happen, or not happen?

          • Joe, do you know about a guy in Elmwood Park named James Cerone? I believe he is in the real estate business. I believe he was a cousin of Jack. I met him a couple of years ago and had a few social conversations with him. Do you know anything about him?

          • Joseph Fosco on

Yes. I know Jimmy and his brother Tommy. Tommy is a lawyer. I knew their now late mother Nina as well (very nice people). They are cousins of Jackie Esquire. Jimmy resembles his Uncle Jack a great deal. Tommy has a full head of hair.
My dad was close with their dad.

  7. Joseph Fosco on

The man indicated above named Tommy Martin is the same person that was busy getting intoxicated at Rooster’s Barn & Grill in Bloomingdale, Illinois, while his dog died of asphyxiation waiting in Tommy’s truck with the windows closed in the sweltering summer heat. Tommy got away with this alcohol related crime, unlike the woman whose trial he presided over as a juror, which had nothing to do with the loss of a life.

On second thought, Bill is right on this one, Tommy is a creep.

  8. Joe, you mentioned in the article a story Bill III relayed about playing golf with Michael Jordan. There have been rumors for years about MJ’s involvement with local bookmakers and his various betting habits. The most interesting being that his father was knocked down over Michael’s reluctance to pay certain gambling debts. Not to get off topic but what do you think? I’m sure you’ve heard a few stories.

    • Dear Tony,
Yes, according to Bill he beat Jordan for roughly 80-grand in one afternoon. Jordan supposedly has a bagman with him that takes care of the money end of it. Jordan’s bagman allegedly paid Bill immediately. I understand he was paid in cash. It appears that Jordan learned his lesson about writing checks for gambling debts. lol
I have no clue about any of the gambling situations associated with Jordan’s late father.

  9. Joseph Fosco on

    Dear Readers:

According to my sources, one of the first things Billy Daddono did after my article broke on March 25, 2011, was visit Tommy Martin at Rooster’s Barn & Grill to be the first one to explain his side of the story regarding my article. Bill knows that Tommy is one of those dumb people that will believe the first person that tells him about something. Obviously, Billy would be compelled to defuse a potential issue that he would likely have with Tommy over my disclosure of Bill’s comment indicating Tommy as a “creep.” Secondly and most importantly, Billy would be compelled to shift the blame to someone other than himself, in a desperate attempt to avoid appearing as a person with loose lips. I find Billy’s scrambling last week on damage control mildly entertaining. LOL

Bill, if you are reading this please know that I applaud you for accomplishing your goal of keeping Tommy Martin from understanding your true feelings about him. However, do not be too proud, because Tommy Martin is intellectually challenged (as you well know), which makes him extremely credulous for someone as manipulative as yourself. I doubt your cunning abilities would work on someone with more than half of a brain such as Pete Silvestri.

  10. Attention readers:

A newcomer to the treads, by the name Luca Bravo had this to say last night:

“On The Sidelines, The Daddono Your Talking About Is Bills III Uncle His Name Is Lou And I Also Wored With Him At McCormick Place In The 80s.Theres Not A Harder Workin More Honest Person I Ever Met There And To Joe,I Thought This Site Was About Gangsters.I Dont See One Single Thing That Bill III Did That Would Be Interperted As Criminal Activity. It Seems More Like A Personnal Attack On The Man.
    GOOD LUCK”

Readers, I am being cautious by not allowing the commenter join our community. I am trying to avoid problems. However, at the same time I want to be fair and allow his or her comment to be displayed.

    In response to Luca Bravo:

Bill III is an associate of organized crime. The information about his alleged role in heisting a truckload of valuables from McCormick Place is quintessential Outfit activity, which is one of many reasons he made headlines here. Thanks.

    • Luca Brasi, How is Don Corleone doing on the day of his daughter’s wedding? Luca, you need to get a dose of reality. Bill III is an organized crime associate. He is no different than a bookmaker paying a street tax to the Outfit to operate. Did you read the article? His company pays a street tax to Rudy Fratto and in return he gets to do some illegal or shady things. That’s the name of the game. By the way, say hello to that fat Clemenza & Tessio.

    • on the sidelines on

JF, have not been on here in a week or so and saw this. Whomever Luca is, he is wrong about the person I was referring to. not that it matters to you or i. i also was able to ask a few questions on regards to Bill # 3. some very interesting stories that i am not at liberty to speak of. but your stories are on par with what i have been told. JF, i also know that you have met at least one of my brothers. he had nothing but nice things to say. and if he found how i know of you and that i was on here, i have a feeling i would be getting an a$$ chewing ! lol
