Michael Magnafichi

Michael Magnafichi walked away from the Chicago Outfit in 2003, after making a series of bad decisions with business matters pertinent to his then position as overseer of a multi-million dollar organized crime bookmaking racket. He was able to get out alive largely because of the respect that some major crime bosses had for Michael’s father, the late Lee Magnafichi, who once served the Chicago Outfit as Capo of their Elmwood Park Crew.

After leaving the Chicago Outfit, Michael quickly joined a new clique of different criminals. These delinquents, who were independent of the Chicago Outfit, were running a modest fencing racket in the suburbs of Chicago. This move marked a large fall in Michael’s status. He went from making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year as a significant Chicago Outfit operative, to struggling to make ends meet as a lowly agent of a small-time fencing operation. In 2016, Michael left his (now old) life of crime entirely. His new goal is to be the best Roman Catholic he can be.

Today, Michael holds a great employment position as a contracted liaison to a Georgia-based corporation called the Christopher Columbus Consultancy. This corporation works to some extent with another Georgia-based corporation, a non-profit organization called the Christopher Columbus Foundation. Michael’s role with this consultancy pertains exclusively to their Programs For The Incarcerated. In this role, Michael handles relevant communications and provides encouragement to the incarcerated and to those who were recently released.

In a recent interview with ANP, Michael commented, “The Columbus Alliance is a pretty conservative group. I agree with some of their positions, not everything. I’m in it strictly to help inmates transition into society.”

American News Post wishes Michael well in his new and exciting endeavors. God bless.
