Hi everyone! It’s Mike Mags with ANP’s Sports Podcast for Thursday, August 1, 2013. Today we discussed football and baseball today in our sports segment. Afterword, as our Behind the Scenes piece started we managed to cover some questions from our audience and also spent some time talking about the now late boss of the Chicago Outfit, Sam Carlisi.
I hope you enjoy the show!
We’ll be back next Monday, August 5, 2013. Have a nice weekend.

It is hard to imagine the Outfit being “sustainable” for any serious length of time. Ask Michael if he thinks the Outfit will survive, or if he thinks it is on its way out? A follow-up question is this: On a scale from 1 (weak) to 10 (very strong), how healthy is the present day Chicago Outfit? (I can live with a brief, concise answer to my follow-up question.)
Will do Murray.
I know this is a long shot, but can you ask him if the Outfit stopped making people in the 90s?
Will do Funk.
Great thanks. And as Merlin often says, a yes or no will suffice.
Also, if you have any Joey O stories it’d be much appreciated.
There’s some goofballs discrediting ANP on a message board called “Gangster BB” (bulletin board). “The Don” (lol) is registered under the name “Chicago” and says things like, “the Beatles of organized crime.” He’s talked about the Vaselli thing more than once and has repeatedly stated that Michael Magnafichi is not made and calls him a liar. ANP is regularly ridiculed by some of the members of the site. That’s ok, though. Some of the gurus and mob experts are from places like Utah, the UK, and Australia. What do you think of The Don’s claims about Michael? Very interesting in light of his relatives true status.
Some guy is saying the story about Salerno, Gigante, Crime, and Carlisi is a fabrication by Michael.
Lefty,
Everyone (I am referring to your ‘someone’) is entitled to an opinion. However, Bill Daddono III better stop with his slander or some stories will be published that will prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
Comment deleted…what was the gist of it?
Funk, I accidentally deleted the comment. I have since reinstated it.
Good show guys. What Mike said about Riley Cooper was spot on. There are already stories about one of his teammates ending his friendship. Like the Q&A in the second segment. Seems to be a good format. Since Mike was with Elmwood Park I wonder if he heard any stories about Tony Capezio, the first capo of that crew. Since he and Joe B were close there must have been some.
Antiliar,
Even I have stories about Cap. However, I will address the issue with Michael on our next show. I am sure he will have some Tony Cap stories to share. Tony Cap brought Jack into the picture. Willie Messino had a great deal of exposure to Cap, running errands for Jack. Willie used to talk about Tony a lot, which is how I acquired stories on him. For now I will say this, Willie was afraid Cap.
Tony Cap is one of the more mysterious members of the Outfit, so would enjoy hearing your stories too. Guess when he was the old Grand Avenue (which became the Elmwood Park crew) boss, Joe B must have been his top lieutenant or personal underboss, something like that. I wonder if McGurn was part of that crew too since he was so close to Joe B. McGurn was killed at Willie Aloisio’s bowling alley, and he was part of the West Side/Taylor Street crew, so I don’t know what the relationship there was. Would be curious to know if Frank Rio was McGurn’s protector in the same way that Ricca was Giancana’s protector, and that after Rio died McGurn was taken out.
Mr. Fosco,
Who is this “Mickey D” person who was recently described by the FBI and a SunTimes news story as the “partner” of Solly DeLaurentis? Thanks.
