Hi everyone! It’s Mike Mags with today’s ANP Sports Podcast. I know we have been on a rather sudden hiatus for the last several days. Please understand the Sports Podcast is basically in a concept stage. We publish the show in order to test the quality of the show and the audience feedback. Earlier this month Frank Coconate felt that he would better serve the show as a periodical guest host. However, with the football season literally around the corner, Frank cannot sit still from excitement and decided to hold on to his position as co-host.
Today in our Behind the Scenes piece we talked a little about the now late Outfit higher-up Anthony “Tony Cap” Capezio. In addition, we started out with some clarification on the Haywards and Haywoods.
We will be back next week, however, as of right now we are unsure if whether we’ll do one or two shows per week. Furthermore, I am somewhat reluctant to advertise a date right now. All I will say is that we will try to give you a day or two notice of the date of our next show. We are working hard on preparing for the upcoming football season, which is part of the reason we have been on hiatus.
Thank you for your support. Please know that we at ANP are grateful to have you as our audience. Have a nice weekend, you’ll hear from us next week!

Good show today, fellas. Some of the behind the scenes stories made me laugh. The dog ginger, what kind of a dog was it? Lol.
Dear Dom,
Thanks for the encouraging words. If my memory serves me
correct, I believe Ginger was a Rottweiler. If I am incorrect, I will update
the information very soon. Thanks for your support Dom.
So Capezio was a scary guy. Since we’re talking about 1955 (the year he died) and earlier, I wonder who exactly was in his crew back in those days. Jack Cerone was his top lieutenant and under them were Lee Magnafichi, Eco James Coli, Messino, DiFronzo, Sam Mesi and Cerone’s brother. I guess McGurn was an early member and Accardo was the top lieutenant before Cerone, and maybe James Adduci (the politician), Vincent “the Don” Benevento, Nick DeJohn, Willie Aloisio and Charles Gioe, but there had to be other guys beside them from the 193s and 40s. Does Mike know the names of other guys who belonged to the Elmwood Park crew in the old days?
Glad to see you back Mike. Good piece on Tony Capezio. Since there doesn’t seem to be much danger in you discussing deceased mobsters, perhaps you could discuss Louis Eboli next segment? For one thing, I would love to know how Louis got into the Outfit in the first place since his father was a high level mobster in NYC and whether he ever carried more weight than other guys in the Outfit because of his father. Was he still close with NY guys after his father passed?
Does Michael have any Johnny Haircuts stories. Did anyone ever get the best of Haircuts on the golf course?
Yes, Michael has JH stories. I will ask him to share during our next show which is scheduled for this Thursday, August 29.
Great Joey O stories guys!
