Today’s topic: Political chicanery with a Christmas twist!
Dreaming Of A Working Government
by Theodore Roe
Three years ago I wrote a little ditty about how the Democrat-dominated legislature couldn’t stop writing stupid laws. Now they can’t seem to write anything at all. So, without further ado, I give you my rendition of White Christmas inspired by the depressing sentiment that the White House and Congress that are so determined to screw each other that we’ll all go down in flames.
Here’s The Drifters to help you out with the tune.
I’m dreaming of a black budget
Like Andrew Jackson used to know
Where the Congress listens
And taxes lessen
Giving families more Xmas dough
I’m dreaming of a fair White House
Not stealing our futures from our sight
And making the stock market crash tonight
Bringing all our pensions up light
I’m dreaming of better Welfare
Not one that just fails outright
People retiring later
Is far, far greater
Than old folks living on Skid Row
I’m dreaming of a new voter
One that thinks about our plight
Tocqueville informing them right
To bounce those Chicago boys tonight
Merry Christmas, America!

Luxury Rides For All The Bad Girls And Boys
by Lucy Raed
Cause one good turn (and/or partisan bashing cover song) deserves another, here is my politically-driven Christmas carol response to Roe’s typically one-sided diatribe.
Sing along with (or just bask in the majesty of) Michael Buble if you’d like.
I’m dreaming tonight of a country I love
Even more than I usually do
And although I know it makes no sense
I promise you
We’ll be Boehned for Christmas
You can count on thieves
Like the GOP bleeding you and me
To save rich folks from new fees
Fiscal cliffs will find me
Wearing worn-out blue jeans
While fat cats cruise in Beamers
And cheat with off-shore schemes
Happy holidays!

Hmm…after a careful reading I find Theodore Roe’s lyrics to be creative and amusing. Lucy Raed’s typical one-sided diatribe is so childish it’s pitiful.
